Reflection Questions

  • What's the difference between WAV format and MP3 format and how different formats affect downloading time ? (Hint: file size; compression)(Read the wiki page for more information)
Answer: Wav format is a uncompressed format for music files where as MP3 format is compressed this means that a MP3 file is smaller that a WAV format and thus takes less time to down load.
  • Do you know any other audio format? Please list at least one.
Answer: WMA
  • How sampling and quantization affect audio quality?
Answer: The lower the sampling rate and quantization means a lower or even substantially lower audio quality.
